The passion for chemistry and the search for a sustainable future:
CO2 Diamonds was born from Mara Santos' passion for chemistry and the search for a more sustainable future.
In 2018, on a trip to New York and faced with a large demand for diamonds, she had the idea of creating diamonds from atmospheric CO2.

From the beginning, CO2 Diamonds has been committed to sustainable practices.
We opt for lab grown diamonds, eliminating the need for traditional mining and its devastating effects on the environment. But we go beyond simply avoiding harm.
Innovation and customization:
With an innovative spirit, we invest in scientific research to create the highest quality lab grown diamonds by capturing and utilizing carbon dioxide (CO2), using HPHT method. This pioneer process not only intends to reduce our environmental footprint but also inspires a new vision for a sustainable future: a carbon economy where a once-problematic gas becomes a source of beauty and prosperity.
After global recognition and Portuguese and international awards (Cross-Border for Local Value 2021 - Carleton University, Canada and Best Business Idea 2021 - NOVA University, Portugal) , we create partnerships to offer our customers a variety of customization options, so that each piece of jewelry is unique and reflects your individual style.
